I HATE power lines! They pollute every skyline in my neighborhood. Every beautiful sunset, every full moon on the horizon ends up looking like it's been bisected by black zigzags and parallel bars. I have nightmares of being entangled in the morass of power lines that feed our city, our homes, our countrysides.
If power line pollution isn't enough. You can find substations by following the increasing density of those horrid strands as they trail from pole to pole across your vision.
And where power lines are split off at transformers in residential neighborhoods, the whole mess ends up being death traps to unsuspecting squirrels and cats. And don't forget when big storms rip the lines loose... we spent a week without power because our neighbor (sharing the same transformer) lost their power line from the transformer to their house. That meant the load was unbalanced and the transformer could not be reset until the line was repaired. We lost an entire deep freezer-worth of food!
We buried our power and utility lines and I feel blessed every time I step outside and don't see the bisecting black webs stretching across my upward glance....
